The Apollos Program derives its name from the young man from Alexandria who was fervent in the scriptures and eloquent in proclaiming the gospel but who needed additional education. Fortunately, he had two friends who were interested in helping him. They arranged for his further education so that he could proclaim the whole truth (Acts 18:24-26).

The Foundation provides scholarships to gifted students in any of the ten Presbyterian Church (USA) seminaries. Four named scholarships are given each year at a $5,000 annual level. Additional scholarships are awarded for $2,500 per year based upon available funds.

Our goal is to help those chosen by God and under the care of their Presbyteries to excel as they respond to God’s call.

The Foundation provides significant educational events each year in Omaha and Kansas City. These lectures are led by outstanding theological educators and are open to pastors, commissioned lay pastors and church leaders.

In addition, we also support a host of conferences that are designed and conducted by synods, presbyteries, local churches and related organizations. These programs take theological education into the broader 13-state region which we seek to serve.

Each year we receive more requests for funding programs than we can grant. Your gift would enable us to expand our continuing education programs so that many more church leaders can participate in these important regional and local events.

Many pastors and commissioned lay pastors are called upon to lead their congregations without specific training in vital areas of church administration. As a result, the mission of the church suffers and conflict arises.

The Foundation realizes that leaders of rural and urban Presbyterian Church (USA) congregations often lack access to traditional seminary programs that could help them. We want to provide a distance education program focused on Church Administration to nurture these leaders and their churches. The University of Nebraska – Omaha has designed with us a high quality 10-week summer program for this purpose. The majority of the course would be offered online so that rural and urban church leaders can fully participate.

We believe that such a program will greatly benefit the churches and their leaders. Each student would contribute one half of their tuition ($750) while the Foundation would match that amount. One year of the program would cost the Foundation up to $15,000.
